 The 2017 Global Estimates of Modern Slavery focus on two main issues: forced labour and forced marriage. The estimate of forced labour comprises forced labour in the private economy, forced sexual exploitation of adults and commercial sexual exploitation of children, and state-imposed forced labour.

Fatal Journeys Volume 3: Improving Data on Missing Migrants

 Since 2014, more than 22,500 migrant deaths and disappearances have been recorded by the International Organization for Migration globally. The real figure could be much higher, but many deaths are never recorded. Fatal Journeys Volume 3 – Part 1 provides a global review of existing data sources, and illustrates the need for improvements in the ways that data on missing migrants are collected, analysed and communicated.

Access to justice for migrant workers in South-East Asia

 There are estimated to be 20.2 million migrant workers originating from South-East Asia, nearly 6.9 million of whom migrated to other countries within the region (UNDESA, 2015). Although the labour rights and social protection benefits established for these workers are in many cases the same as nationals under law, they frequently experience unequal and discriminatory treatment in practice.

Mais de seis mil refugiados moçambicanos no Malawi regressam ao país


 Um total de 6.346 refugiados moçambicanos, que fugiram das hostilidades militares resultants da reedição em 2016 do conflito politico-militar, e que se encontravam em campos no Malawi, regressaram ao país desde a declaração da trégua.
