The Internal Displacement Monitoring Center (IDMC) has published its Global Report on Internal Displacement 2019. This year's document focuses on urban internal displacement and presents new evidence on the humanitarian and development challenges posed by displacement to, between and within cities.
Part 1 - Global displacement overview presents the new global figures for the year 2018. The data, contextual analysis and urban perspectives are presented in regional overviews and national spotlights.
Part 2 - Internal displacement data: from challenge to opportunity discusses why internal displacement should be monitored systematically and independently. It identifies the main gaps in current practice and points to solutions for the future.
Part 3 - Urban internal displacement: risks, impacts and solutions and breakdown of the main characteristics, risks, impacts and challenges related to urban internal displacement around the world, presenting opportunities and new approaches to dealing with them.
